Some recent sites developed include:
- Kidsafe (with ZG Communications)
A fairly large build including custom post types, hover bios, auto-generated circle images, automatic homepage excerpts, image sub-navigation and blog. This was a very graphic-intensive site with a different colour scheme for almost every page.
- Vanry and Associates (with Robert Arndt)
This was a straight design replication, coded into a standard child theme with the WordPress back-end reconfigured so that the client could easily update it on their own. Also re-structured the pages from tables to divs, so they transition fluidly to mobile sizing, and made the banners editable.
- Inneractive Leadership (with ZG Communications)
A fairly graphic-centric design, this site involves changeable banners, multiple sliders with different designs, a blog with tabbed categories, and an expandable FAQ section.
- Jen Gfeller – Nature Photography
This is my own site, built to showcase my bird and nature photography and display some popular web development features.
- Roper Greyell LLP
This was an interesting build which needed to have an easy-to-update interface, numerous post types and an exact replication of their previous design. Utilizing many of the same concepts used in Figure1’s sites, this project came together smoothly and in excellent time.
Rebuilt again in early 2016 with new design and features.
- Figure 1 Publishing (with ZG Communications and Jessica Sullivan)
Originally built on a paid template, we recently rebuilt this into a double site, separating the business section into a separate version of the site.
Note: Figure1 has since redone their website again, but the development version of our build can be seen at this link.
- Elektra Women’s Choir (with Laura Murray Public Relations)
This was a new design involving the import of a large resource section from their old website as well as new content. The resource section included multiple custom post types with interlinked fields and an easy-input admin interface for management of the large amount of data. Also included in the build were a registration system for music clinics, a private-access singer’s section, concert listings, and mailchimp newsletter integration.
- BCASLPA (with ZG Communications and Jessica Sullivan)
This build was a double-sided site, with separate navigation menus for both public and professional sections. Custom post types and taxonomies were used for the disability section, with a custom search form built.
The Find a Professional section is a complicated custom search feature involving custom user meta fields for the private professionals, who register through the site, and custom post type with taxonomies for the public professionals.
Built to custom design specs, including separate colour scheming for each navigation section and child pages. Membership registration forms, paid job posting abilities, and user management capabilities included.
- ZG Communications (with ZG Communications and Jessica Sullivan)
Similar to the Figure 1 Site, we decided to simplify the site build after the initial setup which used a paid theme. The impressive increase in speed achieved by this code minimization is a large part of the reason we now build our own custom templates to eliminate extra scripts which can cause loading delays.
After stripping away all the extraneous, and building a simple theme with only the essential scripts for the one-page layout and services section, the site speed increased dramatically. Built to specific design specs. Later added a sortable portfolio section with animated blocks.
- Alcuin Society (with ZG Communications and Jessica Sullivan)
This custom design was highly css-intensive, involving a lot of font and style changes throughout the content. It also included the import and conversion of a very large blog from Blogger. Migration to a new host, and uses a paid template child theme, as requested.
- Insomnia Writing and Editing (with Jessica Sullivan)
This deceptively simple site involved some interesting challenges with full-width background images and placements. After some excellent collaboration between design and production aspects, the result was pleasing to all involved.
- Jessica Sullivan Design (with Jessica Sullivan)
This was a challenging project, as when one converts a design to code for the designer’s own website, you know it needs to be perfect. We ended up not having to compromise on anything, and pulled off a highly css-intensive build in under 2 weeks.
- Geri Ramsay (with ZG Communications)
A one-page setup to custom design. This site was very straightforward, and similar enough to the ZG Communications site that we could use several of the same coding features. This site launched less than 2 weeks after getting the final design and content.
